Running for Charity: Where Your Entry Fee Goes

30 percent of fees, after operating costs, supports patrol equipment. Here is how giving works and how to fundraise.

Your entry is an act of conservation

Unlike large commercial marathons, this is a charity race. We do not offer big cash prizes. Instead, each year we allocate 30 percent of participation fees, after operating costs, to conservation activities protecting the Serengeti ecosystem.

What the money buys

  • Torches, rain jackets and jungle boots for rangers
  • First-aid kits, GPS units and backpacks
  • Uniforms, radios and training
  • Support for patrol vehicles and motorcycles

Donate beyond your entry

You can add a donation in money through card or mobile money, or pledge equipment. Choose whether your gift supports game rangers, village game scouts or where it is needed most, and give anonymously if you prefer.

Fundraise as a runner

  1. Share your registration and your reason for running.
  2. Ask friends, colleagues and your employer to match your entry.
  3. Post training updates with the hashtags #RunWithAPurpose and #SupportRangersWhoProtectSerengeti.
  4. Link supporters to our donation page.

Every contribution, large or small, helps rangers do their work more safely and effectively.
