Race day is 12 September 2027 at Fort Ikoma. The 15 km starts at 6:30 AM, the 10 km Executive Anti-Poaching Run at 6:45 AM and the 5 km Family Fun Run at 7:00 AM. Please arrive at the assembly point at least 30 minutes before your start time.

No. Please keep valuables and luggage at your guest house or hotel; the organiser cannot look after runners' belongings. If you drive, lock valuables in your car. Free parking is available at Fort Ikoma.

A professional photography team covers the event. After the race the photo link is shared on our Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp/Telegram groups and on this website for free download.

Yes. Mugumu town has standard guest houses (B&B) and hotels from about USD 12 to USD 120 per person per night. Book in advance; hospitality students from SETCO College can help confirm Mugumu bookings. Tented camps and lodges inside and outside Serengeti National Park and in the Ikona WMA range from about USD 150 to USD 500 per room, some close to the start line. Book through your Tanzanian tour operator or our travel packages.

You can reach Mugumu and Fort Ikoma by private vehicle or public transport from Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Moshi, Arusha, Dodoma, Mwanza, Musoma and Tarime. Free buses carry runners from Mugumu to Fort Ikoma, departing at 5:15 AM from Sokoine Stadium, Mugumu. Private cars may be used from nearby towns such as Mugumu, Musoma, Bunda, Natta and Robanda; free parking is available.

Kit collection runs 1-11 September 2027, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, at SETCO College in Mugumu. On 10-11 September kits are also issued at Fort Ikoma.

Register on this website in three steps: your details, choose a package, then pay. Online payment uses Flutterwave (card, mobile money, bank) and Paystack. Participants in the 15 km must be over 18. Under-18s in the 10 km Executive Run and 5 km Family Fun Run must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult; children aged 7-12 run with their guardian. All runners must be medically fit.

Registration fees are not refundable and no refund is given for purchased tickets. Travel and accommodation remain the participant's responsibility; if the event changes or is cancelled for operational reasons, the organiser is not responsible for costs incurred.

Yes. We collect backpacks, torches, first-aid kits, GPS units, rain jackets, jungle patrol boots, motorcycles, patrol vehicles (such as Toyota Land Cruisers) and anything else you can offer to support rangers and Village Game Scouts. Use our donation page or email donation@sar.or.tz.

This is a charity race, so cash prizes are modest tokens of appreciation, awarded to Tanzanian citizens only in line with Athletics Tanzania rules, and citizenship is verified. Details are announced three to four weeks before the race.
